I chose the article titled “Evaluation of Operational and Environmental Sustainability Tradeoffs in Multimodal Freight Transportation Planning” in which there has been a thorough analysis of the ways in which there is more importance given to sustainability of the environment as well as to protection of the environment in which the intermodal transportation is taking place (Kelle et al. 2018). This is because there are factors like evaluation of traffic planning which must be taken into serious consideration. Traffic planning is extremely important in case of intermodalism because freight transportation can be made effective only when areas of heavy traffic is identified early by the human controllers of the intermodal system of freight transportation.
